Summary
Cadence is local-first. The app works fully offline and does not require an account. If you never sign in, your routines, tasks, schedules, and completion history stay on your device and nothing leaves your iPhone.
Signing in is optional. It exists for one reason: a private backup that syncs your content across your own devices. When you sign in, we collect only the minimum needed to make that work — and nothing for advertising or tracking.
What we collect
If you use Cadence without signing in, we collect nothing. There is no account, no profile, and no server-side copy of your data.
If you choose to sign in (via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email), we collect only:
- Your email address — used to secure and identify your account.
- A random user ID — an internal identifier that links your synced data to your account.
- Your content — the routines, tasks, schedules, and completion history you create — solely so it can be backed up and synced across your devices.
How we use it
We use the information above for a single purpose: to back up your content and sync it across the devices signed in to your account. We use your email to secure your account and to contact you about your account if necessary. We do not use your data for any other purpose.
No tracking, no ads
Cadence contains no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party analytics. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
Storage & security
When you sign in, your synced data is stored on Cadence's backend with per-account access controls — each account can access only its own data. All data is transmitted between your device and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your control
You're in control of your data at all times:
- Use Cadence entirely offline by simply not signing in.
- Delete your account and all server-stored data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your synced content from our backend.
- Sign out at any point to stop syncing; your local data remains on the device.
Children
Cadence is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Cadence after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
